Our ongoing responsibilities are:
- To maintain the Firefighter Memorial in Occidental Park
- Provide uniforms for the Walter Kilgore Honor Guard
- Oversee the Kenneth Hoefner Scholarship Program, providing
yearly prizes to children and grandchildren of active and retired
firefighters.
- Keep our monetary assets in good standing.
Here are some highlights of our past giving campaigns:
- $5K to Unicef going directly to Tsunami victims
- $5K to American Harvest for food donations going directly to
victims of Hurricane Katrina
- $500 to a Seattle firefighter whose daughter underwent heart
surgery.
- $500 to the King County Police ID Club to help track local
children and keep them safe.
- $500 to First Tee Golf Organization, helping underprivileged
children
- $300 to Seattle's Pipe and Drum Band
- $8K or our Honor Guard for new uniforms
- $500 to Soccer Bleve
- 3 donations of $300 each to local families who lost everything
in house fires
- $13K in prizes for young students who won the Hoefner
Scholarship
- Help to the families of Scotty Barnard and Nate Ford for the
funeral expenses of these two firefighters.
- Various other projects, including a future project commemorating
the 5th anniversary of 9/11 using 3,000 colored balls to be
delivered to the families in New York.
